Can you reschedule a court citation?

I was recently given a misdemeanor for possession of less than 35g of marijuana and drug paraphernalia. I am 18 and live in Missouri, this is a first time offence. I have a trip coming up that conflicts with my court date, can i reschedule? Also, does anyone have any advice upon dealing with a misdemeanor like this? Thank you all in advance!
