"No License Ticket" in California?

So I decided to spend a few days with my parents here in Cali to celebrate my moms bday. I am currently living in WA. I got pulled over by a CHP officer and handed over my WA DL license and the guy told me it wasnt valid in CA due to other citations I had in that state in my past visits (which I paid). So he gave me a ticket for "no license" and told me not to drive in CA anymore. Im afraid he flagged me or something for a non licensed driver. Im afraid of not being able to come visit my family anymore.
