If i already got a Seatbelt ticket by a cop do they send me a copy in the mail?

The cop gave me a citation for not having a seatbelt on (he jumped out of the bushes at a stopsign) and i want to know if they are going to send a copy of it in the mail or if i just get the one he gave me. My buddy said they send one in the mail too but i can't find anything online that says they do. I'm a minor though and i can pay the ticket myself but I would like to keep my truck and not have my dad know about my citation.
