What happens if i get a citation for minor in possession of alcohol and im 18 ?

me and my friends and some other people were in a partybus and people that i didnt know brought alcohol, the cops stoped us and gave us all a citation, we were all 17and 18....i didnt drink at all and i asked for them to give me an alcohol test so they can see i didnt drink and they didnt want too.... also i dont have anything on my record this is the first time i get a ticket of any sort... but i was trying to see if thats going to stay on my record because some of my friends were saying that if it stays on your record and if you want to persue pre-med they dont give you your license? and i just got my license for how long would they suspend it ?
